MATTHEW GRAHAM FASTEST IN FIRST BRANDS HATCH PRACTICE

Matty kicked off his preparations for this weekend’s BRDC F4 meeting at Brands Hatch as he went fastest in this afternoon’s opening free practice session around the Kent track.

In a fast paced session, several runners posted fastest times before Graham’s late effort of 45.891s with two minutes remaining propelled him to the top ahead of HHC’s Charlie Robertson and SWR team mate Jack Barlow.

A lap time half way through the session from Mark Godwin Racing’s Dalton looked to have been good enough to end the session fastest before a late dash saw Robertson go fastest briefly before Graham went quicker still.

Speaking afterwards, Graham commented: “That was good, I got some nice clear laps on new tyres and its obvious the testing we did here earlier this week really paid off. Hopefully in qualifying and in the second practice later today I’ll be able to get a nice clear run as I did just then.

“The atmosphere this weekend is going to be really good, it’s going to be very exciting racing in front of a big crowd and I think it’s going to be a really good fun weekend. I’m hoping to be running inside the top five consistently this weekend.”
