FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 NEC – SILVERSTONE

Silverstone bannerFormula Renault 2.0 NEC returns to action this weekend as Matty and the rest of the field head to Silverstone for round two of the 2014 championship.

Supporting the Blancpain Endurance series for the second time this season, the meeting is anticipated to attract a crowd in excess of 25,000 spectators, providing the NEC racers with an opportunity to experience racing in front of a massive audience.

A former World War 2 bomber airfield, Silverstone has hosted motor races since 1947, including 49 Formula One Grand Prixs and is regarded as a demanding challenge for drivers. 2014 will mark the famous track’s second appearance as part of the NEC calendar.

Following the same format as round 1, the action will get under way on Friday as the 30+ strong entry list take part in two 45 minute practice sessions and two 15 minute qualifying sessions to determine the starting grids for the weekend’s two races.

Race one will take place on Saturday from 2:40pm, with race two getting underway at 10:20am on Sunday.  Both of the weekends races will be streamed live via the championship website www.formularenault.tv
