MATTY MAKES EUROCUP RETURN WITH STRAKKA

Strakka FR20 2 smMatty will return to the World Series by Renault supporting Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup field this weekend when he races for renowned team Strakka Racing as the Silverstone based outfit make their long awaited debut in the category.

Agreeing a one race deal to be part of the team’s opening race meeting at the Hungaroaring in Budapest, Matty will form an all British line up with 2014 BRDC Formula 4 champion Jake Hughes racing in the sister car as the team look to make an instant impression as they ramp up for a full season in Eurocup next year.

Strakka Team Principle Dan Walmsley said: “It’s great to have Matthew in the car this weekend as with him and Jake, Strakka has attracted a strong line-up and both are out to prove something to the Eurocup regulars. It is early days for us in the category but they are both real racers and understand the cars, so mixing it with the championship front runners is the aim.”

Matty meanwhile is looking forward to another outing in Europe’s premier Formula Renault 2.0 series and being part of another World Series by Renault weekend after already enjoying two outings to date in 2014

Matty said: “I’m very pleased to be racing with Strakka and being part of its first race in the Eurocup, they have a good reputation and first class engineers to get us on the pace.”

“I’m also really looking forward to racing at another Eurocup meeting,” adds Graham. “It is a massive buzz to race in front of so many people on a weekend and we’ll all be looking to have a solid weekend.”

The Eurocup races will take place on the 13th and 14th September at the Hungaroring and will enjoy televison coverage in the UK via BT Sport and Eurosport, full listings will follow soon.
