BENCHMARK SETTING AT NE1 NEWCASTLE MOTOR SHOW

Matty lent a hand at the inaugural NE1 Newcastle Motor Show this weekend, adding to the motorsport flavour at the event held in the heart of the City Centre.

Joining an Infinity Red Bull Racing F1 car and an Aston Martin Le Mans GT racer, Matty jumped aboard on of two F1 simulators set up in the shadow of Greys Monument, to act as the event’s tame racing driver and set a benchmark lap time for members of the public to beat.

Attracting the attention of big crowds, the event assembled a vast collection of rare and high performance vehicles for public display including Aston Martin’s, Bentley’s, Lamborghini’s and Mercedes.

Alongside the brand new cars assembled, motorist from across the region displayed a rare collection of fine vehicles, including Ferrari’s, Jaguar’s and MG’s.

With the show offering a glimpse of the North East crowds Matty hopes will one day, support him in the highest echelons of the sport, the young racer was full of praise for the event organisers.

“It’s really good NE1 have put on an event like this. It’s something a little bit different, fresh and new in Newcastle and it’s nice to see some motorsport bits on show to people a bit further North than is usually the case
