MATTY MAKES BRITISH GT SWITCH WITH MACMILLAN RACING

GT Announcement

North East racing driver Matthew Graham will switch from single seater racing to endurance this season, after joining the Avon Tyres British GT grid with Macmillan Racing.

Having spent the last three seasons’ racing in BRDC Formula 4 and top European Formula Renault 2.0 series, Graham will take to the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 racer for the team’s inaugural season in one of the most prestigious national sportscar championships in the world.

Joining former Ginetta junior champion Jack Mitchell to form the car’s crew, the nine round series will see Graham race at six of the UK’s top circuits and the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. And while the switch to GTs marks a shift in career direction for the former World Karting Champion, it is one that the 19 year old is looking forward to mastering.

“I’m really excited to get this opportunity with Macmillan Racing in the British GT Championship,” said Graham. “I tested the Aston Martin with the team and felt comfortable with both the car and them.”

“GT4 will be a different experience for me but I felt immediately comfortable in the car and I’m looking forward to working with the team and my team-mate Jack, and believe that we will be a competitive pairing.” The 2016 Avon Tyres British GT season gets underway on the Brands Hatch GP circuit on April 16/17 with live television coverage on Motors TV,
