BRITISH GT – ROCKINGHAM PREVIEW

Matty’s British GT season heads for the Northamptonshire town of Corby this weekend as the second round of the championship takes place at the Rockingham Motor Speedway.

The North Eastern driver had faced an anxious wait to confirm his participation in this weekend’s meeting, after his Macmillan Racing Aston Martin Vantage was severely damaged in a huge accident at Brands Hatch.

However the herculean efforts of the team and Aston Martin Racing will see the number 42 car on track this weekend.

Europe’s fastest racing circuit, Rockingham was originally built to host the American Champ Car series on a 1.5mile oval. This weekend though, will see the British GT field take to its International Super Sportscar Circuit for the first time since 2011.

Having shown impressive pace across the Brands Hatch weekend, Matty is full of confidence ahead of the action getting underway on Saturday and says in the above video, that this British GT round can deliver a good haul of championship points.

The on track action begins on Saturday morning with two practice sessions, ahead of qualifying later in the afternoon.

Sunday sees a short morning warm up ahead of the two hour endurance race, which begins at 13:00
