MORE MILEAGE AHEAD OF BRITISH GT SEASON

Matty’s preparations for the 2016 Avon Tyres British GT championship continued last Friday, as he and team mate Jack Mitchell put the Macmillan Racing Generation AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4 through its paces around Donington Park.

With the championship getting under way at Brands Hatch in Kent on the weekend of April 15-17th, Friday’s test provided Matty with an opportunity to gain further valuable track time in the Vantage and to build the relationship between himself, his team mate and Macmillan Racing personnel.

On a cool overcast day, both drivers enjoyed relatively clear runs around the Leicestershire circuit with their performance levels evenly matched and while no official times were taken, team personnel reported the drivers to be lapping at a competitive speed.

Matty himself, reported the test to be of huge importance ahead of his first season in endurance racing, with the 19 year old stating; “Every time you get in the car is good to familiarise yourself with the handling, the controls and to get used to the team around you.

“You need to make the most of whatever time you get in the car, it’s a new team a new car and quite a bit different from what I’ve done before.”
