BRITISH GT – MATTY STARTS 7th AT ROCKINGHAM

Graham-004 (2)

Round two of the 2016 British GT season begins from seventh on the GT4 grid for Matty this afternoon, following his and team mate Jack Mitchell’s efforts during qualifying at the Rockingham Motor Speedway on Saturday.

With grid positions determined by combining the fastest laps of both drivers from their individual qualifying sessions, Matty’s lap time of 1:23.881 and Mitchell’s of 1:24.089 secured eight in their groups.

Following the deletion of a competitor’s faster time for exceeding track limits, the number 42 Macmillan Racing Aston Martin Vantage advanced one place up the starting line up to seventh and the middle of the GT4 pack.

Speaking at the end of Saturday, Matty said: “We were struggling a little bit with the set-up of the car and it wasn’t quite handling the way Jack and I would like it to but we’re not a million miles away and it’s just some little things we need to find in both the car and ourselves.

“The race is two hours long, we both know that we are quick over a long period of time and I think we have it all to play for.  I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do from where we start.”
