REFLECTIONS ON A SUCCESSFUL BRITISH GT WEEKEND

A solid second place and a salvaged seventh were Matty’s rewards from rounds three and four of the British GT championship at Oulton Park, as the Macmillan Racing driver enjoyed a solid Bank Holiday Monday at the Cheshire circuit.

Graham laid the foundations for his and team-mate Jack Mitchell’s debut podium in the series with a battling drive in race one, moving through the field from eighth on the grid to second by the time of the driver change and a position that Mitchell brought the number 42 Aston Martin home in.

In the afternoon, a mid-race electrical problem hit the car as Graham battled with the Ecurie Ecosse Mclaren that went on to finish fourth.

It almost spelled disaster for the team, but a trackside reset allowed Graham to continue and thanks to attrition and penalties, found himself chasing the sixth placed Beechdean Aston Martin hard, before a red flag four minutes halted his progress.
