RACE PREVIEW

MATTY SET FOR BRITISH GT DONINGTON FINALE

The final round of the 2016 British GT championship takes Matty to Donington Park this weekend for a two hour endurance race around the classic East Midlands circuit.

It is a venue steeped in motor racing history and has played host to many magic moments since its first in 1931, including Ayrton Senna legendary opening lap from the 1993 European Grand Prix.

A lap of 2.5miles in length that includes the renowned Craner Curves and plenty of undulations, the full Grand Prix circuit will be in use for this weekend’s two hour British GT race, providing a worthwhile challenge for the season finale.

Donington Park is a circuit that Matty enjoys, having previously raced on it during his 2013 BRDC Formula 4 campaign and one where he has some experience of driving his Macmillan Racing Aston Martin V8 Vanatge, having conducted pre-season testing at the venue.

After a highly competitive weekend at the previous British GT round at Snetterton in August, Matty is hoping that knowledge can help propel him and team mate Jack Mitchell to the top step of the podium.

With both GT3 and GT4 titles to be settled on Sunday, the race from Donington will be broadcast live in the UK via Motors TV, (Sky channel 447 and Virgin Media channel 545) from 12:30
