Matty Graham is back and will make a return to the racetrack in 2020 as he lines up on the grid for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Stockton-based Team Redline Racing.

Taking to the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, Matty will be part of a multi-car entry for the North East team in what will be his first season of racing since contesting the British GT championship in 2017.

The most successful team in Porsche Carrera Cup GB history, Team Redline Racing, has won no less than ten drivers’ and teams’ titles since 2004 and will provide an environment of excellence for Matty to contest the series.

Part of the support race schedule at eight British Touring Car Championship meetings, Porsche Carrera Cup GB is the country’s fastest one-make championship where identical cars put driver skill in the spotlight.

It is a new type of car that Matty has been learning early in the new year in testing, with the driver looking forward to starting his campaign later this year.

Matty said: “I couldn’t be more excited to join the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. I’ve heard great things about the championship and the racing has always impressed me when watching on TV, so I couldn’t think of many better series to be making my racing return in.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Simon at Redline and Eighty-One Powerdrink for this opportunity and I’m determined to take full advantage of it. Having been out of racing for a couple of years, I’m hungrier than ever to succeed and I want to go out there and win the title at the first attempt.”

Entering its eighteenth year in 2020, Porsche Carrera Cup GB continues to remain at the very pinnacle of British motor racing and is a firm fixture in every motorsport enthusiast’s diary thanks to a combination of close and thrilling racing.

It also forms an integral part of the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid which provides drivers with a perfect pathway to climb the racing ladder all the way to World Championship GT racing and the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
