MATTY GRAHAM AIMING FOR PODIUMS AT BRANDS HATCH

Matty Graham (GBR) Sean Walkinshaw Racing BRDC F4

Matty is looking to give his season a kick start at Brands Hatch this weekend, and is aiming to capitalise on the strong pace he has shown so far in F4.

Speaking before the weekend, the Edmundbyers racer commented: “To this point it’s been a pretty good season. We’ve had some good results but some bad luck has seen me lose a little bit of ground in the championship. Getting a podium at Silverstone at the first round has been my personal highlight so far and I’d like to think I can get a win some time soon.”

Graham currently sits 10th in the standings, but the 17-year-old is looking to make up ground in Kent.

“For Brands Hatch I’d like to get some podiums, I feel it’s about time I took home another trophy! We need some good consistent points to claw our way back into the championship as we’ve dropped back a bit.”

Graham has yet to face the mighty Grand Prix circuit, but is a fast learner and is confident of getting quickly up to speed this weekend.

“I haven’t been round the Brands Hatch GP circuit at all, but I’ve been studying onboard videos. I found that in karting I learned tracks very quickly and so far that’s transferred very well into cars.

“I think I can still aim for the top six in the championship, and my pace so far this season has shown I can run at the front consistently.”
